God loves to give His Mother flowers

DSC_0643

When we moved from New York to our new place in Pennsylvania in July of 1993, we brought with us this beautiful statue of Our Lady Help of Christians that you see in the picture above.

It took us a few months to find the right place to put the statue.  We finally settled on a place between two large rhododendrons at the fork of the internal road of the property, and there we placed the statue in a small shrine.

Little did we know that we had chosen the right place.   I believe that God had intended us to place the statue in this exact spot for one reason: to honor His Mother with these wonderful rhododendrons at the moment that they reach the peak of their blossoming.

I say this because the feast day of Our Lady Help of Christians is May 24th.  And, each year, the first flowers on these rhododendrons bloom on May 15th or very close to that date.

That means that by May 24, the bushes are at their fullest and most noble blooming point.

Mere coincidence?

I don't think so.

Men aren't the only ones who like to give flowers.  God also loves to give His Mother flowers.  And He has such a wonderful Mother to give them to!  Bet the Prots. won't like that.
