Student said: "Everyone was reading your flier..."

Crusading in San Jose

I am writing after a great campaign in San Jose, where we spent our time rallying support for traditional marriage at a very busy four-way intersection. Eight lanes of traffic moved on one side and six on the other.

In a span of four hours, about 31,200 cars passed our signs. And an estimated 4,700 people honked their horns.
A bus driver waiting at the red light picked up his microphone and made use of his external speaker system to say "one man, one woman."

I can't tell you how many people support God's marriage in California. Everywhere we go – at the store, in the parking lot, at the campground, in Subway, at the gas station – people ask us what we are doing. When we tell them, they express surprise, support, joy and enthusiasm.

A woman stopped to complain about our campaign. She said she was a member of a left-wing group called the "Raging Grannies." She defended abortion, homosexuality, and the killing of infants with Down Syndrome.

I need to mention something else: TFP supporters and friends in California are spoiling us. We've been treated to delicious dinners. We've been welcomed into homes like family members and found so much kindness and hospitality.

Please pray for all the TFP supporters and friends in California.

I also wanted to mention that the day after our campaign at Berkeley, I had a phone conversation with a fine Catholic young man who currently studies there. He was most pleased with the TFP's visit to campus, and he said: "Everyone was reading your flier."
Saint Joseph, pray for us!
